Football Manager has more and more become a game of tactics and simulation of real football. This has meant that now more then ever we can start using tactics and the common principles of football with greater effect. But what I want to know, now that there is so much real life simulation, what influences your tactical creation.

It might be tactics of the past such as Total Football, W-M and a like, trying to bring the old principles back into the game.

Modern tactics, such as Mourinho’s airplane parking or the Barcelona side of 2010.

Old FM Saves have you been using the same tactic through all the FM series, tweaking here and there to get it right for the new version? Will the diablo make a return to your FM Game?

You may wish to use the same tactics as the current team your managing do in real life. They have the same players and all surely this is what is going to suit them best.

Football Manager forums and sites such as FM-Britain and SI Games tactics forum have long been established as the places to discuss and perfect your tactical ideas. Have these sites or any other changed the way you play the game?

Downloaded tactics Has the tactics creator put an end to the need to download tactics? Or does the art still grow strong, do you download tactics to play, tinker and get the best out of?

Football Blogs and Forums There is no shortage of sites, forums and books that will analyse what is going on, on the pitch. Reporting their findings and outlining the principles and perceived reasoning. Do you read these to get your ideas for success to Football Manager?

Comments are free so why not leave one below about what influences your tactics. Do you think that Football Manager is at the level to successfully simulate many tactics?
